In the third year, medical-specialist teachings and clinical internships aim to acquire specific skills in clinical nutrition and diet therapy, as well as knowledge of the main ethical principles regulating the practice of the dietitian profession. The internship, mandatory during the three years of the program, is carried out in collaboration with qualified dietitian graduates and employees of affiliated university and company structures, who, as tutors, prepare students for professional practice. The final degree exam enables the profession of dietitian. After graduation, which grants the title of Doctor in Dietetics, no additional internship is required to practice the profession.

Career options

In particular, they can practice their profession in three main areas. In the catering field, they develop the composition of food rations and menus to meet the nutritional needs of population groups; they are responsible for the quality of collective catering services provided in schools, companies, hospital facilities, and nursing homes for the elderly. Finally, i n the educational field, the dietitian carries out educational activities in school or healthcare settings to promote healthy eating habits. The dietitian can practice their profession, autonomously and responsibly, in healthcare facilities (hospitals, clinics, outpatient centers) and non-healthcare settings (municipalities, provinces, catering companies, food industries), both public and private (daycares, schools, sports centers), as employees or in private practice.
